Stamford American’s vision is to encourage students “to become responsible contributing citizens of the school and within a global context” and as such students embrace this aspiration through the many and varied community service activities locally and regionally each year. Our approach is one which involves student-driven initiatives, reflection, and connecting meaningful service to students' personal development within the International Baccalaureate curriculum.

Secondary students at Stamford American recently worked to develop lesson plans and materials that they personally delivered to the Cambodia Hope School. Stamford American’s community built this school in partnership with World Assistance for Cambodia in Kampong Chhnang, Boribo Province of Cambodia, giving children in a rural, poor area an opportunity for a better education and a brighter life. Materials donated included a school supply pack for each student, sports equipment and English as a Second Language (ESL) resources to assist in training local teachers to integrate English into daily lessons.
